Momentum’s City of London expertise and deep refurbishment experience were invaluable. Their clear understanding of the site and its constraints helped shape a practical, well-resolved design. Through detailed development workshops and ongoing guidance, they supported delivery, servicing and waste strategies, providing targeted advice that strengthened the design and project outcomes.

Project context

Extension and refurbishment of an existing building beside the historic Monument to the Fire of London, in the heart of the City. The scheme delivers high-quality office accommodation on a constrained site, with limited space for cycle parking within the building’s basement and the public realm.

Our work

Momentum provided design development advice on cycle parking, end-of-trip facilities, waste, and delivery and servicing strategy, working alongside John Robertson Architects. Work also included attending a pre-application meeting with the City and preparing a Transport Statement, Travel Plan, Delivery and Servicing Plan, and Construction Logistics Plan.

Client outcomes

Planning permission was secured through a robust transport and construction strategy for a highly-constrained site on a TfL bus route. Tailored, bespoke solutions addressed key challenges, achieving a high cycle mode share with basement parking and delivering an efficient waste strategy using an existing basement hoist.
