Leeds Bradford International
Supporting UN Sustainable Development Goals

Project context
Leeds Bradford International was looking to improve the dwell time seen by passengers in the retail units and seating areas in the international departure lounge.
Our work
Detailed passenger modelling improved the throughput process in the passenger security area and supported our client’s decision making concerning the optimal number and layout of mag and bag units. Our design solutions delivered additional search lane and additional queuing space for passengers, provided options for passenger segregation and improved passenger information and signage – resulting in an efficient usage of landside and airside passenger facilities.
Client outcomes
Momentum modelled the airport’s end-to-end passenger security operation to inform the investment in additional security capacity. This investment then contributed to a significantly-reduced average dwell time for passengers at the security terminals. An increase in passengers using the retail and lounge areas on the airside was recorded, providing commercial benefits to the airport.
