Oxford Station
Supporting UN Sustainable Development Goals

Project context
The Oxford Station Masterplan would see the area surrounding the station transformed and upgraded to provide mixed-use development, retail and leisure spaces, as well as bus, cycle and car parking provision fit for future demand.
Our work
Momentum supported architects and master-planners Weston Williamson + Partners in the development of a new masterplan for the area around Oxford Station. Momentum’s work is focused on the external station areas and interchange with other transport modes including bus, cycle, taxi, walking routes and the station car park.
Client outcomes
Working closely with Oxfordshire County Council, Oxford City Council, Network Rail and Great Western Rail, Momentum carried out analysis into the predicted future transport patterns and mode shares and provided transport input to the option testing process. Data has been drawn from previous studies, survey information, and local and national transport policy. The data analysis determined the future transport requirements for the station such as the number of parking spaces, bus stops and cycle parking spaces, and Momentum is supporting the configuration and design of these transport interchanges, as well as the mixed-use development that surrounds them.
