Planning approval – 10 Leake Street
We’re pleased to see planning approval secured for 10 Leake Street – HB Reavis’s significant redevelopment in the heart of Waterloo, London.
Momentum Transport Consultancy supported the scheme with a near 100% cargo bike delivery and servicing strategy, helping ensure that this purpose-built student accommodation development can operate with dramatically reduced reliance on traditional van movements.
For a highly-constrained central London site, that meant:
🚲 Designing a cargo bike-first servicing approach from day one
📦 Planning for efficient last-mile deliveries with minimal vehicle trips
🔄 Coordinating building management and operational requirements
🏢 Integrating a mix of efficient cycle parking and pooling options in the fabric of the building
By embedding urban logistics thinking early in the design process, the development is set up to minimise congestion, reduce emissions and support Lambeth’s wider sustainability ambitions.
With strong backing from the LSE and designed by PLP Architecture, this scheme shows how high-quality student accommodation and low-carbon servicing strategies can go hand in hand.
As more central London developments look to cut vehicle movements and improve air quality, cargo bike-led logistics will play an increasingly important role.
Thanks to PedalMe for collaborating to develop a robust cargo bike strategy.
If you’re exploring how to make near-zero emission servicing a practical reality, we’d be happy to share our experience.
