The Abbey Road project consists of the redevelopment of the site in the London Borough of Brent to provide improved industrial floorspace with associated offices. The scheme by PRC architects sought to refurbish the site with 4,180 sqm warehouse space and 627 sqm office space.

Momentum has provided transport planning and highways engineering support to facilitate the proposed redevelopment of 291 Abbey Road, which has now been granted conditional planning approval. The site consists of an industrial building accompanied by a number of parking spaces and loading bays. To advise on the transport-related aspects of the development, Momentum prepared a transport specification setting out cycle parking, waste and delivery and servicing requirements, and the projected trip generation of the proposed land uses. Momentum’s engineers also provided vehicle swept path analyses for the proposed servicing yard to complement the delivery, servicing and waste strategy. This involved the preparation of technical drawings to advise on the layout and access of the car park.

Momentum supported the proposals from the pre-application to the planning process by providing a full suite of transport planning documents such as a Healthy Streets Transport Assessment, Delivery and Servicing Plan, Construction Logistics Plan and Travel Plan. Design of the servicing strategy was facilitated by further vehicle swept paths and general arrangements. Following a successful planning application, Momentum has also provided S278/S106 support, including the provision of detailed S278 drawings and input into the written S278 agreement. Further amendments to the scheme were facilitated by an S73 application also supported by the planning and engineering team.
