Introduction
Momentum was commissioned to help design future land-side transport facilities associated with a new Terminal building at King Khaled International Airport, in Saudi Arabia. Our services included demand modelling, signage, highway and car parking design.
Renowned for our passenger modelling, we worked with existing passenger numbers to help forecast passenger movements likely to be witnessed during the busiest of times. This led us to provide recommendations of minimum kerb lengths for drop-off and pick-up activity, as well as providing sufficient capacity to meet demand on the network of land-side connecting roads. Helped by this understanding, we commenced developing concept designs suitable to accommodate the predicted demand.
