Supporting UN Sustainable Development Goals

Formerly known as 133 Park Street & 105 Sumner St

Momentum was commissioned by City of London Real Property Company Limited to support a planning application for the demolition of existing buildings and construction of a new two-block office development in Southwark. Located next to the thriving pedestrianised area of Bankside, Momentum was tasked with developing transport proposals that would cater for the high volume and array of anticipated users whilst also accommodating the needs of neighbouring buildings under existing lease agreements. A new north-south walking route between Sumner Street and Park Street was provided as part of development proposals, opening up new pedestrian connections to and from Bankside.

Momentum has provided the client with transport planning and highway design expertise throughout the project. We have delivered a full suite of transport planning documents, including a Transport Assessment (TA), Delivery and Servicing Plan (DSP), Construction Logistics Plan (CSP), and Travel Plan (TP). Momentum has worked closely with Gillespies to support the transformation of an existing on-site car park into a shared-use pedestrian, parking and servicing space. Our support has included the preparation of vehicle swept-path assessments, access control recommendations and specification of protective measures that will help facilitate a safe, functional, and multi-purpose space at the heart of the site. Momentum also supported the client in prospective tenant discussions by advising on servicing management principles that take account of tenant requirements.

Momentum developed the S278 designs for the surrounding footways and vehicle accesses in coordination with the external works team. The detailed design process included the production of a full suite of S278 drawings, C2 & C3 liaison, Road Safety Audit Designer’s response and the management of design information on BIM platform, Aconex. The designs and Specification for S278 works received Technical Approval from LB Southwark in May 2022. Throughout construction, we provided construction support, which included liaison on Section 278 matters to help achieve the best outcome for both the highway authority and client, regular site inspections, and final inspections of the completed S278 improvement works.
